Free agent linebacker Gerald Hodges is expected to sign with the Buffalo Bills after a tour of several teams, including KC.

The Buffalo Bills have found some linebacking help with the addition of Gerald Hodges on a reported one-year deal, per Adam Schefter.

Hodges visited the Bills earlier this week in the latest visit on a free agent tour that has taken him to a few teams, including the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs hosted Hodges several weeks ago as their first official free agent visit, but let him leave without a deal. Hodges remained a free agent for several weeks and made an overture that he wanted to even return to the Minnesota Vikings early on, the team that he entered the league with. However, he ended up signing with Buffalo.

Several other teams had also hosted the former San Francisco 49ers linebacker, including the New England PatriotsNew York Giants, Indianapolis Colts, New York Jets and the Jacksonville Jaguars. Hodges showed well last season in a breakthrough year that included 80 total tackles, 2 interceptions, 3 sacks and 1 forced fumble. Hodges put up an above average performance against the run, but also showed he could make plays on the ball in coverage as well.

As the Bills figure out where exactly they want to play Reggie Ragland, the signing of Hodges gives them some flexibility, depth and more overall talent in the heart of the defense.
