While it’s possible that Gramling was being generous in some ways with the Chiefs, especially giving Kelce the top tight end slot, placing Tyreek Hill in the top 50 and assuming such good things about Ware, the reality is that he also missed at least two players: wide receiver Jeremy Maclin and running back Kareem Hunt.

We’ve already touched on Hunt a bit, but it’s odd that a fantasy sports writer would ignore a potential RB1, especially considering Hunt’s experience catching the football out of the backfield and the obvious fit in Reid’s system. Perhaps much of this was written before the draft, but the value of running backs makes this a silly mistake to not even include him as a key handcuff.

As for Maclin, he’s never going to put up 1,200 or 1,300 yards but he can definitely cross the 1,000 mark even with Alex Smith at the helm and he should be looking to rebound from a frustrating year with emotional, mental and physical hurdles. He’s still the most reliable wide receiver for the Chiefs and knows the offensive system inside and out. He could return with a big year and should be a sleeper worth considering.
