No. 27, Travis Kelce, TE

Next up on the list is the top tight end in fantasy football with Travis Kelce. For those who raise an eyebrow wondering about a certain New England Patriot, Gramling is already ahead of you. He writes, “Yeah, playing with Alex Smith puts his TD ceiling right around 10, but Kelce is more durable than Rob Gronkowski and Jordan Reed, making him my top tight end.”

Kelce enjoyed a breakthrough season last year, being named an All-Pro for the first time in his career. He also crossed the 1,000 yard mark for the first time ever. Last year, Kelce had 85 catches for 1,125 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns.

What remains interesting (read: frustrating) about Kelce is the lack of end zone opportunities. Kelce’s career high remains at 5, which he’s hit twice, and even with more targets than ever last season, Kelce actually came up one short on that total. A big target with such good hands who knows how to use his body, Kelce should have plenty more red zone touches than he has now. Then again, he broke through last year in terms of overall stats and perhaps this is the year that Kelce grabs 8 or more touchdowns.
