Will Lewis & Trip MacCracken

Former home: Chiefs
New home: Unemployed

At this point, neither Will Lewis nor Trip MacCracken have found new homes with any current franchise, although it’s possible that news simply hasn’t been reported yet on their behalf. MacCracken was the Director of Football Administration for the Chiefs, helping with the salary cap and contracts along with Salary Cap Analyst Brandt Tilis. MacCracken was recently credited with being part of the team who worked on Eric Berry’s six-year extension earlier this offseason.

Lewis has a fine resume after spending the last four years with the Chiefs and two full decades of scouting and front office work with franchises like the Green Bay Packers and the Seattle Seahawks. He was Vice-President of Football Operations for the Seahawks from 2009 to 2013 and was the team’s Director of Pro Personnel before that. He got his start as a scout for the Packers in 1997 after a few years as a defensive assistant coach. Lewis was a cornerback for the Seahawks and other teams in the early ’80s.

Both men should be able to find work elsewhere soon enough knowing their experience with winning teams.
