Former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Lake Dawson continues his ascent in front offices around the NFL by joining the Buffalo Bills.

From 1994 to 1997, Lake Dawson was a wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs, after the team drafted him in the third round of the 1994 NFL Draft. After his NFL career, Dawson made it clear he had an interest in front office work and he continues to carve out an impressive career with his latest move as the Assistant Director of College Scouting for the Buffalo Bills.

Dawson is the latest addition for new general manager Brandon Beane, who recently joined the team after years with the Carolina Panthers. Dawson served several years with the Seattle Seahawks and the Tennessee Titans in front office roles before becoming a scout with the Cleveland Browns.

"“Lake has worked hard,” Beane said. “He’s had a heck of a career. He rose to a level of VP of Player Personnel. He’s interviewed for multiple GM positions. To have a guy with his experience and leadership and high character … we talked about that in the interview. What type of player are we looking for … Lake understands that it is the guy on the field, but as the Assistant College Director, we’re going to make sure our college scouts are working the background and the character on prospects.”"

Dawson’s years of NFL experience as a player will certainly help him in his evaluative roles in the front office. He finished his pro career with 103 catches for 1,406 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns, all with the Chiefs.
