The Kansas City Chiefs will have two of the 40 total rookies invited to the 2017 NFLPA Rookie Premiere event: Patrick Mahomes and Kareem Hunt.

The Kansas City Chiefs are sending two of their six-man draft class to this year’s NFLPA Rookie Premiere, giving both quarterback Patrick Mahomes and running back Kareem Hunt some incredible access to business opportunities and sponsorship moments right out of the gate.

The Rookie Premiere is an annual event that invites a select group of that year’s draft class to be present in the same space as multiple businesses who might vie for their potential sponsorships. The athletes are given their first post-draft marketing event in a safe space with opportunities vetted by the player’s union and yet businesses also have the chance to sit down and get to know players before committing millions of dollars to a young face they don’t even know yet.

It’s a win-win for both sides and even fans often enjoy picking up all kinds of signed merchandise, including rookie cards, jerseys and the like as companies like Panini are also on hand. Hopefully it means good things for both Hunt and Mahomes as they begin their professional football career with these exciting opportunities.

Mahomes was the Chiefs first round pick this year at No. 10 overall after the team traded up with the Buffalo Bills to get him.

Hunt was also a trade target for the Chiefs after John Dorsey packaged picks in the third round to get the Toledo running back.
