Former Kansas City Chiefs executive has avoiding raiding his former employer as he fleshes out the front office staff in Indianapolis.

Indianapolis Colts general manager Chris Ballard is making an impressive round of hires this week, pulling together his braintrust now that the dust has settled on the draft. Moving forward,  Ballard has brought in Morocco Brown, Ed Dodds and Rex Hogan to flesh out his front office staff in Indy.

What’s good for the Chiefs about all of this is that Ballard largely left his former employer alone, taking only Kyle Childress with him, the Colts new College Scouting Coordinator. Losing Ballard was a significant loss in itself for the Chiefs, and Brett Veach, one of the team’s co-Directors of Player Personnel, was rumored to be connected to the Buffalo Bills GM opening. It’s unclear whether Dorsey and Ballard had any standing agreement to not raid the cabinets, so to speak, but Ballard has put together a celebrated front office without hurting his K.C. roots.
