Stanley Jean-Baptiste among 6 players signed by Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs announced the signing of six new players on Tuesday, including former Saints cornerback Stanley Jean-Baptiste.

The Kansas City Chiefs announced a slew of roster moves on Tuesday with the signing of six new players and the release of seven, including a newly-added running back who barely had time to enter the building.

The newest crop of Kansas City Chiefs features new players both sides of the ball, the most familiar of which will be former second round pick Stanley Jean-Baptiste, a cornerback who was originally drafted in 2014 by the New Orleans Saints. Jean-Baptiste hasn’t played in an NFL game since his rookie season three years ago, but clearly he has plenty left in the tank for John Dorsey, the Chiefs general manager, to take a chance.

The other additions:

• Emanuel Byrd, TE, 6-2, 239 lbs., Marshall
• Stanley Jean-Baptiste, CB, 6-3, 213 lbs., Nebraska
• Will Monday, P, 6-4, 212 lbs., Duke
• Devine Redding, RB, 5-8, 201 lbs., Indiana
• Jamari Staples, WR, 6-3, 195 lbs., Louisville

The list of players released includes running back Darrin Reaves, which we found out about on Monday as well as his perceived replacement, the newly claimed Kelvin Taylor from Seattle. Apparently the Chiefs liked what they saw even more from Redding in minicamp.
