Will Monday, P, 6-4, 212 lbs., Duke

Stats: Four-year punter at Duke. Zero blocked kicks in his career. 46.5 punt avg. yards. (2015)

What he brings: For any punter to merit even a rumor of being taken in the NFL Draft means he is one of the top at his position. He originally with the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent but sat out last year. The Chiefs taking a flyer on Monday at this point is the first known activity or interest around Monday since the Steelers released him last August.

Where he fits: The Chiefs have one of the best in the business in Dustin Colquitt and the Chiefs have made every sort of cut around Colquitt when they actually need the money. If anything, it seems like they are just fine with paying their punter more than any other team in the league. However, maybe Monday’s signing means they’re open to seeing how life after Colquitt might look. If they like what they see, they could save around $4 million.
