The Quarterbacks

Who’s In: Alex Smith, Tyler Bray, Patrick Mahomes

Who’s Out: Joel Stave

This is as easy of a call as any on the roster. Stave is a camp body and the other three are pretty much locks barring an injury. Don’t be surprised if the Chiefs try to keep Bray as the number two guy this season while they train Mahomes. He knows Reid’s system by now and if Alex had to miss time he should be able to handle the full play book. I’m guessing the Chiefs perfect scenario would be for Mahomes to be able to “red shirt” this year and just work on learning the playbook and the basics of the pro game. I would expect a good season out of Alex Smith as he continues to have a solid roster around him and the added motivation to stay ahead of the Chiefs quarterback of the future.

Next up, the running backs.
