Chiefs exec Brett Veach is just one name among many rumored for the Buffalo Bills general manager search. Here’s a complete rundown of the candidates.

What a weird offseason it’s been for the Buffalo Bills. Just two weeks ago, the Kansas City Chiefs traded up in the 2017 NFL Draft with the team and gave them a haul in return praised by many NFL analysts—who largely claimed K.C. gave up too much for the pick. The Bills also, by most accounts, enjoyed a nice draft class, making good on their choices along the way. Somehow all of that managed to get GM Doug Whaley fired from his post.

It was interesting to see a Chiefs executive—Brett Veach, co-director of player personnel—get an interview for the position so soon after trading with that same team. The Patrick Mahomes deal will go a long way toward cementing the legacies of both John Dorsey and Doug Whaley but the Bills are ready to move on either way, despite how the pick turns out. Such is life in the NFL today.

Several days later, Veach remains a rumored candidate but no actual interview has taken place yet. Instead the Bills have met with several other options, including one candidate twice. Still nothing has been decided yet, which means Veach might still be in play. Here’s a rundown of each candidate who is left and why the Bills would say “yes” or “no” to each.
