Lesean McCoy took to Twitter to give his support for the Buffalo Bills to hire Kansas City Chiefs exec Brett Veach as the team’s new GM.

Kansas City Chiefs co-director of player personnel Brett Veach is a hot commodity in Western New York these days. The Buffalo Bills recently fired general manager Doug Whaley, which means they’re looking for a replacement and Veach has been rumored as one of the candidates. Apparently the team’s star running back, Lesean McCoy, wants to make sure he has a personal interest in who is hired by taking to Twitter to support Veach.

Veach was a part of the Philadelphia Eagles staff who originally drafted McCoy in the 2009 NFL Draft (second round), so the familiarity is obvious on McCoy’s part. That said, the Chiefs have established a winning culture since Andy Reid and John Dorsey arrived in town, and Veach’s ability to learn from both men for the last several years bodes well for his future in the business.

The Indianapolis Colts already grabbed one member of the John Dorsey tree, so to speak, in Chris Ballard and they’ve enjoyed a strong offseason thus far. It should not surprise anyone if the Chiefs continue to experience losses in the front office due to their stability and success. It is, simply put, the cost of doing business.

Veach is not the only rumored candidate in Buffalo, however. He also faces competition from Houston Texans exec Brian Gaine and Carolina Panthers assistant GM Brandon Beane.
