The Kansas City Chiefs have made their pick at the end of the fifth round at No. 183 overall, LB Ukeme Eligwe from Georgia Southern.

John Dorsey has turned in the latest pick for the Kansas City Chiefs and the team’s lone pick in the fifth round after initially having three in this frame. The Chiefs used No. 183 overall to select Ukeme Eligwe, a outside linebacker out of Georgia Southern.

Eligwe had 97 total tackles last season for Georgia Southern, 7.5 of them for a loss. He had 2.5 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries and 1 forced fumble. He also had 3 passes defended.

Eligwe adds some competition at outside linebacker along with Dadi Nicolas, last year’s sixth round pick, to go with Frank Zombo and Victor Ochi. NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein writes:

"Highly-touted, four-star prospect out of high school, Eligwe passes the eyeball test with flying colors. He is a straight-line player who struggles to change direction in space and needs to keep plays in front of him. His lack of anticipation and instincts could cause teams to try him as a strong-side 4-3 linebacker rather than inside. He has the physical traits and potential that should land him on a practice squad with an outside shot of making a roster."

The Chiefs have a single pick left in the 2017 NFL Draft at the end of the sixth round, a compensatory selection at No. 218 overall.
