Could the Chiefs be the surprise team on the other side of rumors that the Titans are trading down from No. 5 overall?
The 2017 NFL Draft is on the horizon, only one day from the drama beginning to unfold where, starting at No. 2 overall, no one really has any idea how the proceedings will unfold. The Kansas City Chiefs are reportedly looking to find their quarterback of the future, but unfortunately a litany of teams stand in the way of them likely finding the top of their draft board available to them. To do so, they might have to move up. Could they do so with the Tennessee Titans?
Adam Schefter has a rumor that the Titans are ready to move down and could be set to do so already.
Sounds like Titans are at it again. Already have received offers for fifth overall pick and are contemplating trade, per league source.

The Titans moved all over the draft last year as new GM Jon Robinson looked to acquire as many draft picks as possible to create a contender in the mid-South. At No. 5, the Titans could take an impact defender, but in a deep draft class, they might be better served taking a few picks in exchange for the top five choice. This creates some room for the Chiefs to make their move.
The Chiefs would likely have to part with their first three picks to make this work and potentially even more to move up 22 spots to get their man. But in doing so, they would likely land either Deshaun Watson or Mitchell Trubisky. Not only would this, on paper, enable them to enjoy a seamless transition at the most important spot on the football field, but the Chiefs will also save tons of money if they are able to drop Alex Smith’s salary in the near future.
At this point, it is all conjecture, but very few teams seem to be interested in moving that far up in the draft. The Chiefs could definitely be one such team.
