Pick: 20
Team: Denver Broncos
Selection: Forrest Lamp, OL, Western Kentucky

The Denver Broncos are somehow a Super Bowl caliber team with as many holes as some fringe playoff contenders. With a dynamic defensive unit anchored by a stout pass rush and strong cornerbacks, the offense remains the place in need of instant impact talent. Just last year they grabbed their quarterback of the future in Paxton Lynch and they already have playmakers at wide receiver, so now it’s time to protect that investment.

The offensive line is one of the biggest needs on this team although tackle should be the primary position addressed. With a lack of bowl-you-over options in this class, the Broncos turn their attention to the single best offensive lineman overall. Sure, they already signed Ronald Leary away from the Dallas Cowboys and have some talent along the interior with Matt Paradis, but Lamp will instantly be the best overall player along the line and he’s got the versatility to try him out at different spots.

If John Elway can add the next Zach Martin simply by staying put at No. 20, it will reap dividends for the short and long term and likely give the Broncos a player they will still be celebrating 10 years from now. [Matt Conner]
