The Kansas City Chiefs score some big-time potential in the latest two-round mock from Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller.

Matt Miller is back with a brand new two-round 2017 NFL mock draft on Friday, and fans of the Kansas City Chiefs should be thrilled with the results of the first two rounds as the Bleacher Report analyst sees things. Not only does the team get a franchise quarterback that most fans are practically begging for, but they also land a top-notch cornerback whose stock has fallen slightly.

In the first round, Miller has Notre Dame quarterback DeShone Kizer falling to the Chiefs at No. 27 overall. Kizer is the last man standing in the first round, after Mitchell Trubisky is taken in the top ten and the New York Giants and Houston Texans slip in picks just before the Chiefs for Deshaun Watson and Patrick Mahomes respectively.

Despite being the last of the top four quarterbacks in the draft, the Chiefs would have a lot to work with if Kizer fell to them, a former candidate for a top overall pick had he been able to qualify for the draft after his 2015 season, Kizer’s performance slipped as did the Fighting Irish, introducing questions about Kizer’s game that weren’t as pronounced before. Still there’d be no rush for any quarterback to start immediately for the Chiefs, which means the team’s coaching staff could just zero in on bringing Kizer along as he’s comfortable with the playbook while working on his technique in the meantime.
