Deshone Kizer has taken an official visit with the Kansas City Chiefs, which means John Dorsey is serious about taking a quarterback in the first round.

Mel Kiper Jr. believes that Notre Dame quarterback Deshone Kizer could fall all the way to No. 27 overall to the Kansas City Chiefs, going by his latest mock draft. Apparently the Chiefs agree that it could happen given that the team recently brought in Kizer for an official visit to Arrowhead Stadium, only one of 30 such allowed visits.

Kizer is a newer mention among first round quarterbacks who might fall that far. Typically this offseason, mock drafts have kept Kizer and Mitchell Trubisky near the top of the draft, which means the names mocked to the Chiefs are typically Deshaun Watson and Patrick Mahomes of Clemson and Texas Tech, respectively. Now Kizer might be cooling off in terms of overall stock, which means the Chiefs need to know what they think of him. The Chiefs have already informally met with Kizer at the NFL Combine and undoubtedly have done their due diligence on all of the potential quarterback picks in the draft.

Kizer threw 26 touchdowns and 9 interceptions last year for Notre Dame, but saw his completion percentage fall from 62.9% to 58.7% from 2015 to 2016.
