Former Chiefs running back Ted McKnight will be one of six new inductees into the DECC Athletic Hall of Fame in Duluth, Minnesota.

The Duluth News-Tribune is reporting that former Kansas City Chiefs running back Ted McKnight will be one of six new inductees into the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (DECC) Athletic Hall of Fame.

McKnight, a player at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, was a second round pick by the Oakland Raiders in 1977, but he never played for them. Instead he was picked up by the Chiefs and became their leading rusher from 1978-1980, averaging a robust 6.0 yards per carry in 1978. McKnight finished his Chiefs (and NFL) career with 528 carries for 2,344 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns. He also caught 99 passes for another 717 receiving yards.

"Per the News-Tribune, McKnight “led NCAA Division II in rushing as a senior (1,482 yards) and set the school’s single-game mark of 235 yards, as well as records for touchdowns in a single season (22) and a single game (6).”"

McKnight finished his final season in 1982 in the NFL with the Buffalo Bills, appearing three games but never registering a single rushing stat.
