All this brings us to the 2017 in which there is another player with a negative history: Oklahoma running back Joe Mixon. Mixon, who punched a girl leaving her quite injured, was not invited to the NFL combine this year for that very reason. Before the incident, Mixon was a star running back for the Oklahoma Sooners. During his two year career, he rushed for over 2,000 yards with six touchdowns with an average of 6.8 yards per carry. He also made a name for himself as a return man for the Big 12 team, gaining over 500 yards with 1 score.

Mixon is an interesting draft choice. According to his NFL Draft profile, Mixon has the rare talent of being a bruiser, someone who runs at tackles head on, and a finesse guy, much like the Chiefs had with Jamaal Charles. His big league comparison for his skill set, Le’Veon Bell, is one of the more prolific runners in today’s NFL. Mixon’s biggest downfall is his character issues, with some scouts noticing his lack at being an inside runner, and while he is patient, like Bell, he may be too patient.

All this brings us to Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller with his post-combine mock draft that has the Kansas City Chiefs selecting Mixon with the 59th overall pick in round two of the draft. Naturally this has a lot of people questioning Miller’s sanity, giving the Chiefs one of the more questionable picks this year. Can the Chiefs really afford another domestic violence player on their team?
