The Denver Broncos might be interested in signing Tony Romo, but if Dallas wants to trade him, there’s reportedly no interest on John Elway’s part.

The Denver Broncos are among the last two assumed suitors for Tony Romo, but John Elway apparently is not interested in having to trade something for the Dallas Cowboys quarterback.

At this point, there’s a showdown between the Broncos, the Cowboys and the Houston Texans. Jerry Jones is clearly trying to get something for his prized quarterback asset, but the Broncos clearly aren’t budging as they realize that Romo will likely be released anyway. If they have a good indication that Romo will sign with them, then there’s no reason to give the Cowboys anything in return.

However the Texans could definitely decide to make things interesting and could give something — anything even — to Dallas to secure Romo’s services. Whether or not it will happen and force Elway to turn back on his “not interested” stance is something the Cowboys are likely hoping for, but all of this is a game of poker. In the end, any return is not likely to be much, perhaps a late round conditional draft choice that adapts to how healthy Romo stays next season.
