Locked on Chiefs: NFL Draft risers that fit in Kansas City

The Chiefs have a number of new potential fits following the Combine, particularly at the inside linebacker position.

Several factors look to be pushing some big-name players at inside linebacker into the Chiefs range of the draft. Zach Cunningham looks like a younger version of Derrick Johnson. Reuben Foster, maybe the best overall inside linebacker in this draft class, looks to be falling to the late first round. And the fastest rising player at the position appears to be a natural fit in Kansas City.

Haason Reddick of Temple has had a very good postseason. He was a standout in both the practices and the Senior Bowl game itself. At the NFL Combine, he showed athleticism beyond anyone else in the inside linebacker class.

Reddick has already had a meeting with the Chiefs’ leadership and has a long-standing relationship with one of its coaches. Britt Reid was on the temple staff when Reddick arrived on campus. Reddick told B.J. Kissel of Chiefs.com about their relationship, saying:

"“Britt Reid is a good man… one of the few guys on that first coaching staff that was willing to help me out and who thought I had potential. I was very appreciative (of him). He always looked out, always tried to give me the opportunity to show what I had.”"

Inside linebacker might be the Chiefs top need and as the draft draws closer, one of the top players should be available.

It may very well be Reddick.
