Demetrius Harris was arrested for possession of marijuana on Tuesday afternoon.

On the eve of the free agent market opening, the Kansas City Chiefs find themselves dealing with some unexpected player drama as tight end Demetrius Harris was arrested for “felony possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia”, per KMBC.

The Chiefs have provided no comment to the media just yet, but Harris will undoubtedly face some sort of punishment from the NFL. However, the legal process is likely to play out for a bit before any official suspension or fine is levied by league or team officials.

Harris was arrested in Bates County, Missouri, a county due south of Kansas City.

Harris started 11 games last season for the Chiefs, his third year with the team. He had 17 catches and 123 yards and a single touchdown in 2016.
