The latest rumors concerning Adrian Peterson are in and the future Hall of Fame running back reportedly prefers the Raiders and Seahawks.

When the Minnesota Vikings released Adrian Peterson, it signaled the end of an era, similar to what the Kansas City Chiefs felt after releasing Jamaal Charles. Both players are franchise icons and Peterson is a future Hall of Fame inductee. So what does the pro future for both players look like at this point?

While the market for Charles is relatively quiet at this stage, there’s at least rumors concerning Peterson’s “desirable landing spots” coming out.

Peterson was due for an $18 million cap hit in 2017, so it’s not surprising to see the Vikings decide to let him go. That said, Peterson is still a dangerous, physical back who should find work somewhere, and with a potent offense like the Raiders, Peterson could enjoy some room to run.

Peterson logged only 37 carries last season for the Vikings and he’s getting ready to turn 32 years old. His prime years are clearly behind him, so it will be interesting to see what a team like the Raiders will offer him. The Raiders have Latavius Murray hitting the open market, so they’re due to replace him or re-sign him, but they might like the thought of the veteran more.

The Raiders also have Taiwan Jones and DeAndre Washington on the roster at running back.
