#4: Charles becomes the Chiefs leading rusher on a spectacular TD run

This will be one of the runs that plays on the Arrowhead big screens when Charles is inevitably inducted into the Chiefs’ Ring of Honor. The set up looked more like a run out of bounds for no gain. It was Charles’ speed that allowed him to gain the edge and get the entire defense going in one direction. At that point he could have gone down, and the Chiefs would have been satisfied with a first down. However, that just isn’t Jamaal Charles.

What makes Charles great isn’t just his speed or hands; instead, it is his vision and focus on finding the end zone. He wanted to cross that goal line and no one, teammate or otherwise, was going to get in his way. The result on this play was a helicopter across the goal line on a hit from Brandon Flowers. Luckily the hit did more damage to Flowers than to Charles as he bounced right back up and celebrated on his way to the sideline.
