Eric Berry will be this year’s keynote speaker at the 2017 Team Jack Foundation Gala, an annual event to raise money and awareness for pediatric cancer research.
Kansas City Chiefs star safety Eric Berry will be the featured keynote speaker at this year’s Team Jack Foundation Gala, an annual event that features a silent auction, several athlete appearances, musical performances, a dinner and much more. Berry is, of course, an inspiration himself after returning to play for the Chiefs after being treated for Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
“We are so excited to have Eric Berry as this year’s keynote speaker for the Gala,” said Brianna Hoffman, co-founder of Team Jack Foundation, in an interview with Arrowhead Addict. “His story of perseverance and overcoming is inspiring to young and old alike.
“This is our signature event each year and it continues to grow. We are so thankful to all of the people who make it happen.”
Several other NFL players will also be in attendance, including Bengals running back Rex Burkhead, Lions running back Ameer Abdullah, Ravens wide receiver Kenny Bell, Jets wide receiver Quincy Enumwa and Vikings tackle Jeremiah Sirles.
The Gala is just one way Team Jack Foundation works to help raise awareness and much needed money for research and treatment for pediatric cancer.
“Pediatric cancers combined receive only 4% of the National Cancer Institute’s budget,” said Hoffman. “Private foundations like the Team Jack Foundation are essential to funding research for kids with cancer.”
