4. Kevin Zeitler

Zeitler is a very interesting fit that our Ryan Tracy endorsed yesterday in his column. There is a very good likelihood that he hits the open market, as the Cincinnati Bengals have long been know to be tight with the wallet. This is a situation where Zeitler, coming off his rookie deal, is looking to get paid.

In recent years, the Chiefs have put a ton of money into their offensive line. Eric Fisher was given a long-term extension while Mitchell Schwartz signed a five-year, $33 million deal. Would general manager John Dorsey be willing to throw about contract at an offensive lineman? My guess is the deal would be about five years and $40 million with $20-25 million being guaranteed.

It’s a ton of money for a guard, but Zeitler can play. He’s terrific in pass protection and yet a mauler in the run game. He’s exactly the type of player who would fit in opposite Parker Ehinger, and give Kansas City a little nasty streak on the inside. If Dorsey believes the Laurent Duvernay-Tardif isn’t getting the job done, this could happen.
