Kansas City Chiefs on the right road, if they’re headed to Houston
The best table-setter for a rematch with the New England Patriots and possibly the team representing the NFC in the Super Bowl is a second look at one of the best teams in football in 2016. We’re all familiar with the time-worn NFL adage: ‘To be the best, you have to beat the best.’ More often than not, in the National Football League, I find that statement to be true. I’ve seen it demonstrated time and again.
There’s no back door to the Lamar Hunt trophy for Kansas City, and there shouldn’t be. If this team can beat the Pittsburgh Steelers, they can beat any team in the league, in any venue. What better way to know what this team is made of than a mega matchup to start the postseason tournament? The Chiefs can beat the Steelers in Arrowhead. Especially, given extra time for head coach Andy Reid to prepare. It’s also possible, however unlikely, that the Dolphins upset the Steelers (which would send either Houston or Oakland to Kansas City).
Are you afraid of the big, bad Steelers? Can the Kansas City Chiefs truly make a deep postseason run facing such stiff competition to start the tournament? Could a healthy Justin Houston, a more stable secondary, and revitalized offense be the differencemaker this time around? Use the comment section below to start the debate. As always, we appreciate your readership and support.
