Everything about this game reminds me of the Week 11 matchup between the Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That contest was also wedged between two big games — a pair of teams who represented their respective conferences in last year’s Super Bowl. Kansas City was a six-plus point favorite in that game and wound up falling to an ascending team starting what’s become a red-hot streak of five straight wins.

Kansas City can’t afford to be lulled to sleep against Tennessee. A first-round bye and division title rest on the Chiefs being well prepared for Week 15. Marcus Mariota’s having a Pro-Bowl caliber season and the resurgent DeMarco Murray’s having one of the best years of his six-year career. The Chiefs can clinch a playoff berth with a win on Sunday (sans any help from other teams in the AFC). Hopefully, that’s motivation enough to come out and take care of business before a near-capacity crowd at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Will the Chiefs play with a sense of urgency against a lesser Tennessee team or is this the inevitable trap game? Can Kansas City afford to lose a game in its quest for one of the top two seeds in the AFC? Will the Titans run roughshod over a Chiefs defense missing Derrick Johnson?
