The Kansas City Chiefs will be without cornerback Phillip Gaines on Sunday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but Jamaal Charles is active.

So… you want the good news or the bad news? Both? Fine. The Chiefs have made their inactives official for their primetime matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and there are a few critical notes to pass along.

First, the Chiefs won’t be having the abilities of Phillip Gaines. This is going to be a major hurdle to overcome. Kansas City doesn’t allow its cornerbacks to travel around the field, which means Antonio Brown can line up all day line and half the night on either Steven Nelson or D.J. White. While both guys are decent enough players, neither is Gaines. This could get ugly.

On the flip side, the Chiefs do have the services of Jamaal Charles. Charles has not played since Week 5 of last season, when he tore his ACL against the Chicago Bears.

With Charles in the game, you would have to imagine that both he adn Spencer Ware will be doing something along the lines of splitting carries. Charles has to be somewhat rusty, right? Then again, it’s Jamaal Charles.

We are only a tad more than an hour away from kickoff.
