Jamaal Charles returning Week 3? Well..
The Kansas City Chiefs would love to have running back Jamaal Charles back on the field for the first time in 11 months, but his availability remains in question.
Will Charles be able to go at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday afternoon against the New York Jets? Well, it depends on who you believe. On Monday, head coach Andy Reid stepped to the podium and said that he wasn’t sure whether Charles could play, although he noted he will consult with team doctors. The fact he has to talk with them means Charles must be pretty close. Reid also said the potential future Hall of Famer looked better last week.
On the other side of the aisle is ESPN reporter and NFL insider Adam Schefter. Schefter reported on Sunday that Charles should be able to go once the Jets are in town. This wouldn’t be a total surprise, considering the Chiefs desperately need to win this game.
My thought would be that Charles is able to play. Why? Because Reid has immediately said he was doubtful to play on previous Mondays. Considering he was warming up last week, it signals another step was taken. Frankly, Charles should be ready to go here. It’s been almost a full calendar year since he last played.

While he is 29 years old, Charles remains the best player on an offense that needs him back. Spencer Ware has been fantastic, but Charles adds another dimension.
