Here is our initial look at roster moves made for the 53-man cutdown in our weekend special edition podcast.

Keeping four running backs could be another signal of concern over Jamaal Charles’ timeframe for return to action. It could also hint at ongoing talks for a trade of some kind. It is telling that the team chose to keep Knile Davis who was clearly behind Darrin Reaves on the depth chart. Could Davis have more trade value as a returner? Reaves could potentially make the practice squad.

Jarrod Pughsley was thought to be the front runner for the 8th offensive lineman role. That ended going to Jordan Devey in a mildly surprising decision. The offensive line is one unit that could see an addition if the team wants to make a serious run at Pro Bowler Josh Sitton, who John Dorsey worked with in Green Bay.

According to former NFL Exec Joe Banner, the Chiefs have one of the youngest  rosters int he NFL. Its the sixth youngest according to another source.
