Chiefs kingdom its rightfully morose over the signing of Paul Kruger by the New Orleans Saints. As we said yesterday, the goal was to get him to Kansas City. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. It leaves the Chiefs with a problem at outside linebacker. They clearly were interested in bolstering the unit while Justin Houston is on the PUP list. it is thin with Tamba Hali and Dee Ford as the primary pass rushers. Now, the team will have to look elsewhere as other teams cut pass rushers.

Trade rumors are swirling and are centered on the Chiefs Aaron Murray. multiple major media outlets were quick to mention that Kansas City has five quarterbacks currently on the roster. Murray seems to be the odd man out. Could Dallas or Minnesota be interested in trading for Murray? Anything is possible. Murray has been up and down this preseason, unable to log significant time with the 1st or 2nd team offensive unit. Chris points out that if he fails to play on Thursday night, it could be a sign that a deal is imminent.

With few question marks left in the starting or 2nd team ranks, Thursday is a game primarily about the bottom third of the roster. Developmental and special teams players will be scratching to make the regular season roster. For specifics on what to watch for,
