The Kansas City Chiefs find themselves facing the Chicago Bears, what are three things to watch for during this weekends game?

The Kansas City Chiefs find themselves sitting at 0-2 for the preseason. Now, does that record really matter? Some don’t think so. However, what the preseason does do is give the team a chance to look at players. The first set of roster cuts is fast approaching so with that in mind what are three things to look for during the game:

1. Can Nick Foles continue to develop?

Current backup quarterback Nick Foles has been impressive lately in his time with the first team offense. Foles recently went 18-of-22 for 133 yards against his old team. He also took no sacks during the game when current starter Alex Smith and potential backup Aaron Murray both were sacked during the game.

Foles came out with the team with around three minutes left in the first half of the game. It lead to an 18-play drive, and gave the team three points on the board. While it stunk that no touchdown could have resulted from the impressive drive, there were also no major mistakes during the drive for Foles. Any doubts that he would not be the backup to Smith were put to rest during his time on the field against the Rams.

The game this weekend needs to have a little more of Foles working with the first team offense. If he is able to continue to grow the Chiefs may find themselves in a sticky situation when it comes to the future of the team at quarterback.
