The Kansas City Chiefs dropped their second straight preseason game on Saturday by just one point when they lost to the Los Angeles Rams by the score of 20-21. It was a game that had both encouraging signs and some definite concerns. It was also a game that included an endless stream of penalties and two players getting ejected.

It was a game that was interesting at times and at others was almost completely unwatchable. I’ve seen a lot of preseason Chiefs games (both good and bad) but this game from the last drive of the first half through to the end of the game was as painful of football to watch that I can remember in a game that wasn’t a blow out.

Despite this, I still made several pages of notes as I watched again this week. Once again I’ll break the notes down into offensive and defensive notes. Last week I tried to give equal time to both starters and reserves but this week I think I’m going to focus more on the guys that I believe will be on this team in the regular season.

I feel like after two weeks of preseason games we are starting to get a feel for where the 2016 Chiefs are. I’ll still touch on some guys that are fighting to make the team but some of the third stringers at this point are clearly not going to be Chiefs for very long.

Once again I’ll start things off with the offense.
