As with any secondary in today’s NFL, they have a huge impact on the success of each defense, especially in the passing game. With Peters, Gaines, Nelson, Russell and Eric Murray, the Kansas City defense has a lot of young talent within this unit.

It will be vital for these guys to play well with the veterans in KC’s defensive backfield this year if the Chiefs want to slow down the likes of QBs like Philip Rivers, Derek Carr, Drew Brees, Matt Ryan and Cam Newton, who they will square off with this season.

Sure, there will likely be growing pains and adversity that this unit will likely face during the ’16 season, but it will be how they respond to this that could decide their fate for the year and if KC can have an overall dominant defense once again.

What do you think, Addicts? Do you have high hopes for this 2016 Chiefs secondary or do you expect them to take a step back this year?
