Coffee with the Chiefs – Winning bet?

Good morning, Addicts! This guy turns 28 years old today, but nobody cares about that. We do care about the Kansas City Chiefs, who signed quarterback Nick Foles late on Wednesday night.

With Foles in town, somebody has to go and cap space has to be created. Things could get interesting.

Here is the news you need to know…

Chiefs gamble on Tyreek Hill paying off so farSam Mellinger of the Kansas City Star

"In some ways, everything Hill does with the Chiefs will be seen as a statement on the team’s gamble, and not just that he will stay out of trouble. That’s the minimum. For the Chiefs to win here, Hill also needs his talents to prove worth the hassle for an organization that purports to emphasize character but is also working on a 47-year Super Bowl drought."

Details of Eric Fisher’s contract extension Terez Paylor of the Kansas City Star

"According to the NFL Players Association, the Chiefs now have $432,795 in cap space — the lowest in the NFL. Before the deal, they had $226,818, which means the Chiefs saved approximately $206,000 this year."

Kansas City Chiefs: Justin March picks up where he left offBen Almquist of KC Kingdom

"He’s drawing praise from anyone and everyone that watches him.  That includes Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid who told reporters: “We saw that last year before he got hurt, and you saw it here today. He’s constantly around the ball.”"

Gathering the injury report after the first week of campJoel Thorman of Arrowhead Pride

"Albert Wilson left Tuesday’s practice with a strained calf. He did not practice on Wednesday either. It’s not too bad, according to Andy Reid, so nothing too serious. Any injury for someone in a position battle can be tough. Wilson is hoping to be the Chiefs top receiver option after Jeremy Maclin."
