Mitch Morse – A lot of people, myself included, thought the Chiefs jumped the gun and took Morse too early in the 2015 NFL Draft.  He proved those of us who thought that to be wrong with an excellent rookie season.  Though his debut year was cut short with concussion issues, that shouldn’t deter the Chiefs just yet.  His talent is undeniable, and he provides the roster with a steady hand for years to come if he stays healthy.

Parker Ehinger – When the Chiefs grabbed Ehinger, I was elated.  I felt that given a year to learn and adjust, he could be a starter on the KC offensive line as soon as 2017.  Well, the team appears to think that timeline can be bumped up a bit, because he’s already taking snaps as the starting left guard early on in the offseason.

That’s good news in that he’s gotten the edge on some veterans and is in line to get a lot of snaps with the starting unit.  Of course, that doesn’t guarantee anything, but if Ehinger pans out the Chiefs are in an excellent spot with their offensive line.

Larry Tardif/Zach Fulton – Individually, neither of these players has really stood out for the Chiefs, at least not as a starter.  However, in backup roles both players seem like they may be ideally suited.  It’s tough to see the Chiefs keeping both of them beyond their current contracts, but keeping one or the other as a primary backup seems to be an ideal situation.  Don’t underestimate how important a quality backup can be.
