Offensive Line

The Chiefs offensive line has been a bit of a sore spot for fans since the Reid/Dorsey era began.  Chiefs Kingdom has sat by while proven veterans have been allowed to walk in favor of younger unknowns…many of whom have not played nearly as well.

However, to Dorsey’s credit, none of the group of Branden Albert, Geoff Schwartz, Jon Asamoah, or Rodney Hudson has played a full season since leaving Kansas City.  So as far as that goes, Dorsey was at least correct in where he DIDN’T spend money.

On the other end, Dorsey is now in his first year where every member of the team’s offensive line will be someone that he is responsible for.  No blame to Pioli now.  Most of this group is very young, with the exception of starting right tackle Mitchell Schwartz and (potential) starting right guard Jah Reid…neither of whom is long in the tooth themselves.

Eric Fisher – He’s entering his “prove it” year.  Well, really that should have been last year, but injury setbacks and signs of progress have given Eric Fisher a bit of a reprieve.  Of all the players on this list, he’s probably facing the most scrutiny right now.  If he can build on last year’s performance, Fisher is in line for a new contract and will be the cornerstone of the Chiefs offensive line for the next few years.
