Chris Jones

Jones is the highest pick of the draft for the Chiefs and many praised the front office for getting him early in the second round when he was projected as a first round talent. Jones is big and physical with the ability to shed blocks almost as soon as they begin. Where he lacks is his vision as he tends to get sucked in to where the offense wants him to go and he can let a mistake take him out of the game.

Jones has flashes of a top tier defensive talent that can be a terror for both running backs and quarterbacks. He will need to find consistency in camp for him to be a true threat in the NFL. The Chiefs hope to develop Jones to be able to plug him in for spells of Howard and Bailey but also for four linemen situations to stop the run.

Rakeem Nunez-Roches

Nunez saw quite a bit of playing time in 2015 behind Howard and Bailey. He didn’t register many stats, only 4 tackles, but he was able to step in and do what was needed when he was called. Not much will be made of Nunez in camp but he should get his shots during the preseason to show that he deserves to remain on the active roster.

David King

King was a mid-season acquisition from the Seattle Seahawks in 2015 who didn’t play much. He was brought in to help the Chiefs in the loss of Allen Bailey for those four games. He impressed coaches enough to be kept around the team but never played a snap after Bailey returned. King was talented enough to get playing time in Seattle which boasts a top ten defensive line so he should be good enough to see the light at the end of training camp.
