The biggest issue facing KC next offseason in re-signing Berry is that Dontari Poe will be a free agent and Eric Fisher will also be getting ready to hit the FA market the next year. Kansas City also wouldn’t want to franchise Berry again in 2017 as the price to retain him would be close to $13 million.

If KC had cap room maybe that wouldn’t be such a hard pill to swallow but with the way it sits right now the Chiefs will be up against the cap again next season before anything with Poe or Berry is taken into account. Dorsey will have his work cut out for him over the next 10 months trying to figure out how to keep this team mainly intact as the only couple of contracts that could save KC big cap space is rescinding Fisher’s fifth-year option of $11.9 million and cutting or restructuring Alex Smith.

What do you think, Addicts? Do you think the Chiefs can find a way to keep Berry past 2016? Will he play in 2016 for KC?
