The Kansas City Chiefs have their franchised tagged player Eric Berry out there waiting for a new contract, but just what if…

For the Kansas City Chiefs, it was a no-brainer that they would place the franchise tag on their star safety Eric Berry. Berry who has been with the Chiefs all of his professional career, made a miraculous comeback for the 2015 season, after being diagnosed with cancer at the end of 2014. His incredibly turnaround resulted in his fourth Pro-Bowl and winning Comeback Player of The Year in 2015.

With the tag firmly in place, Berry would be playing the following year for almost an 11 million dollar deal. The goal for placing the tag accomplished two things. One, it allowed the Chiefs to hold on to one of their best players, and two gave them time to negotiate a long term deal. Well the deadline for signing a long term deal is less than a day away, and it looks like there might not be much movement with the Chiefs and Berry in locking up a deal.

So, with that in mind, let’s play the “What if” game concerning Berry and his future with KC.

What if a deal is reached?
