Tight Ends

Key Players On Depth Chart:
Travis Kelce
James O’Shaughnessy
Demetrius Harris
Brian Parker

Positional Grade: B+

Travis Kelce is one of the most gifted tight ends in all of the NFL. He has the potential to be the best tight end not named Gronk in the league this season but we’ll have to wait and see if he lives up to that potential.

While I love Kelce’s personality I think its fair to have some concerns about his focus. Kelce has had some fumbling issues thus far in his career and the fact that he just got paid and is starring in his own reality dating show makes me a little nervous. Still, there aren’t many tight ends in the NFL that I would take over him. I would probably give Kelce an A- grade in terms of being the starting tight end.

Like both the quarterback and wide receiver positions the depth behind Kelce at tight end isn’t very experienced but does have some upside. Demetrius Harris has been an intriguing project since John Dorsey brought the former college basketball player to KC and last year’s draft pick James O’Shaughnessy showed some real potential last season before getting injured.

You throw in Brian Parker as a blocking tight end and the Chiefs may not have “A” worthy depth, but I think their upside is probably worth a “B”. You combine Kelce’s A- as the starter with that B grade and there’s your B+ overall grade for the tight end position.

Finally, the offensive line.
