If the Chiefs are lucky, this race will be closer than even I expect it to be once the season starts. Taking the next step and making a deeper run into the postseason likely requires the contributions of more than one player from their 2016 draft class. For the sake of the defense, I hope it’s Jones. I’m sure Alex Smith would prefer Ehinger to distinguish himself as the team’s top rookie.

The secondary could certainly use an insurance policy if Gaines can’t stay healthy. Might be odd rooting for Hill in light of the controversy surrounding him, but a revitalized return game could help an otherwise good football team become a conference elite.

Who’s your money on to earn top rookie honors in Kansas City in 2016? Did I make a mistake by eliminating the other five picks from consideration? Is there an undrafted player we should be keeping an eye on? Use the comment section below to weigh in on the discussion. As always, we appreciate your readership and support.

Until next time, Addicts!
