With the right tackle position they have also given themselves the opportunity to build continuity on the line for the future and give whoever ends up at right guard a very good player next to them to help them settle in and adjust.

While both guard positions remain open headed into training camp the biggest question that needs to be answered on the offensive line is what do the Chiefs have in Eric Fisher? They picked up his fifth-year option which is $11 million for 2017 but it is only guaranteed if he is on the roster.

If Fisher can take a couple of steps forward this season and play a full slate of 20 games (including preseason and any post season games) KC should know what they have headed into the offseason for next year.

Fisher has the ability to be a very good left tackle but the Chiefs have to have the question answered this year so they can plan their cap use accordingly. With both Eric Fisher and Dontari Poe up for contracts over the next two years KC will have to probably choose between the two.
