4. Week 4 : Kansas City at Pittsburgh Steelers
Primetime games are obviously more coveted than your ordinary Sunday afternoon game, and this one is no different. The Chiefs and Steelers will be meeting up for a third straight season with the series tied at one a piece so far. KC was able to take the most recent battle in 2015, but Andy Reid and company were fortunate enough to face Landry Jones instead of Ben Roethlisberger.
That game marked the beginning of the Chiefs’ magical run in which led to ten straight victories. Kansas City will face a rough opening slate once again in 2016, so finding a way to steal one at Heinz Field before a BYE would be awfully nice. Not an easy task with the Terrible Towels waving under the lights.
3. Week 8: Kansas City at Indianapolis Colts
A game that should be pretty self explanatory to Chiefs Kingdom. Lucas Oil Stadium, the Indianapolis Colts, and Andrew Luck will forever represent disaster to the entire Chiefs organization. There is no reason to touch upon the events that occurred in “the game that must not be named” back in the 2014 playoffs, but this will be the first game between the two teams since then.
In front of the cameras, the Chiefs will play this thing off like it is any other game. Behind closed doors will be a different story. While the roster will certainly look different from 2014, I’m sure Andy Reid will make sure his new guys are all caught up on what happened. Set for Halloween Eve, revenge could get pretty scary.
