Kansas City Chiefs: Rand Getlind reports that there has been very little communication between the Chiefs and Eric Berry regarding a new contract.
- Chiefs’ Take: This actually falls very much in line with how Dorsey has approached contracts in the past. Deadlines spur action, and it appears the Chiefs GM has no problem waiting for those deadlines.
- Author’s Take: With the Harrison Smith deal in the books, Berry’s contract should be just about set in stone with the exception of some details in guaranteed money. I would be extremely surprised if this deal doesn’t get done. Right now the Chiefs front office should be fine tuning their plans for next year based off of what they figure Berry’s contract will do to the salary cap.
New Orleans Saints: The Saints have suffered another blow to their defense as safety Kyle Wilson was placed on Injured Reserve for a torn labrum in his shoulder. He is the third player the Saints have lost for the season this month.
New York Jets: The Jets defensive line issues continue as Sheldon Richardson has been suspended for a game as a result of his arrest earlier this offseason.
Pittsburgh Steelers: The Steelers have released kicker Shaun Suisham with an injury designation after he suffered a setback in his recovery from ACL surgery.
San Diego Chargers: The most recent stadium proposal from the city of San Diego for the Chargers appears to already be dead in the water.
