Philadelphia Eagles: The Eagles made defensive lineman Fletcher Cox a very rich man by signing him to a new deal worth up to $103 million, with $57 million guaranteed.  Meanwhile, the Eagles new 1st round pick quarterback went and locked himself in the bathroom.

  • Author’s Take: I can guarantee that the Broncos are not happy about this.
  • Chiefs’ Take: Dontari Poe will absolutely be looking at this mark for his own contract.  And it will be very tough for the Chiefs to match that under even the best of circumstances.  With big deals on the books for Smith, Houston, Maclin, and presumably Eric Berry, there just isn’t much room for another deal of that size.  However, the Chiefs are in a situation where they might be ok with that scenario depending on how rookie Chris Jones is able to progress.
  • Chiefs’ Note: ESPN’s Louis Riddick (one of my top 5 Twitter follows), had a cool fact for Chiefs fans on this.

Seattle Seahawks: The Seahawks tried out NBA star Nate Robinson, but it did not go well.  Coach Pete Carroll stated that it is “all but impossible” for Robinson to make the switch to football.
