After the completion of minicamp on Thursday, head coach Andy Reid gave updates.

The Kansas City Chiefs are done until training camp, and Andy Reid left us with some things to think about in his press conference on Thursday. For one, outside linebacker Justin Houston is apparently doing well and might even see some action in camp, although it likely won’t be much.

In addition, wide receiver Kenny Cook tore his quad earlier in the minicamp and will have surgery. He was not expected to make the team and this cements that fate.

On the Jamaal Charles front, he did not practice but not because of injury. He was simply given the day off.

Meanwhile, outside linebacker Dee Ford returned to practice today but left early again, dealing with tendonitis in his knee. Reid says he expects Ford to be fine for the start of camp.

All told, the Chiefs should be happy about the OTAs and minicamp. It seems the team got some nice work in and nobody of great import was injured. Kansas City can now go into training camp knowing that the only star player on the shelf is Houston, and he could be back sooner rather than later.
