The Kansas City Chiefs are already playing without Justin Houston, and now watched Dee Ford go down.
If there is any position being hit hard by the injury bug in Kansas City, it is outside linebacker. With Justin Houston recovering from ACL injury and Tamba Hali still working his way back from a knee operation, the Chiefs are relying on Dee Ford and the rest of their depth chart.
However, Ford was injured on Wednesday at the team’s mandatory minicamp. Ford reportedly walked slowly off the field, albeit under his own power. The Chiefs have not made any further comments on the injury, which hopefully is nothing more than a minor strain or sprain.
Dee Ford left practice today with an injury. Dez Moses filled in, had a pick.

UPDATE: Ford has been diagnosed with a sore knee. Whew.
#Chiefs LB Dee Ford missed practice today because of a sore knee, a co-worker told me.

This year will be Ford’s major chance at becoming what everyone invisioned when he was drafted with the 23rd-overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. Last year, Ford flashed some of his ample potential against the Sna Diego Chargers, notching three sacks and the game-winning pass breakup.
If Ford can stay on the field and finally contribute, general manager John Dorsey’s faith in him will finally appear justified.
