Trust Andy Reid and John Dorsey on the Tyreek Hill pick

Toub had some very kind words to say about Hill of late, comparing him very loosely to a player he use to coach, Devin Hester. The Chiefs obviously saw something special here. Referring back to the competition between Hill and Thomas, this definitely could be do or die time for DAT. As explosive of a player as he is, his mysterious absence at the end of last season along with his injury history is a cause for concern.

To be clear, Hill’s actions were vial and disgusting. There is no sugarcoating it. I am by no means justifying that sort of behavior. Amongst all the domestic violence issues within our society and even the NFL (Greg Hardy, Ray Rice, etc.), why would Andy Reid and John Dorsey take a chance on a troubled young man like this? Marcus Peters was one thing, but this? Why again?

The answer to your question is simple: 1. Tyreek Hill is an extremely talented athlete who has the potential to contribute to a championship caliber roster, and most importantly 2. John Dorsey and Andy Reid believe they can mold young men to be great football players and even BETTER men. They are not justifying the actions of Hill, but rather, giving him a second chance to display his abilities and be surrounded by a locker room of classy veterans such as Tamba Hali, Jeremy Maclin, and Derrick Johnson.

Every draft pick ever has been a risk. So far, the Chiefs have managed to turn around the devious past of Marcus Peters. Dorsey and Reid believe in their organization. They cannot be discredited for that.

For their belief, Hill has a shot to turn his life around, and maybe even help win a few football games along the way.
